Research National

Since the workplace smoking ban came into place in March 2004, various research has been carried out to investigate whether the Irish smoking ban has had an impact on second-hand smoke exposures for hotel and bar workers. Mr. Maurice Mulcahy, Principal Environmental Health Officer, HSE Western Area, and Board Member of ASH Ireland, has carried out research on this topic, funded by the Irish Cancer Society and Irish Heart Foundation. Full details can be found in Tobacco Control 2005 (Preprints)
