Westlife

Date: 30 September 2011

"ASH Ireland has noted in a statement, attributed to Westlife in the media this morning, that they were not aware of the tobacco industry link to their concert scheduled for Wednesday 5th October in Jakarta. We are aware that at least one member of Westlife was made aware of this 'tobacco' link last Wedneday, 28th September, mid morning.

Alicia Keys the US artist took a strong line in a similar situation; she apologised to her fans and insisted that all tobacco signage be withdrawn - media reports indicate. This concert is five days away; Westlife has ample time to respond appropriately - and in the best interests of their fans"
